The Carolina Community Network to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities(CCN)is
pleased to announce a call for community grant proposals that focus on
reducing cancer health disparities through the development of collaborative
research projects or educational activities. The CCN intends to
competitively award $50,000 in community grants, with budgets ranging from
$500 to $10,000.

Application Deadline: November 7, 2008 by 3:00pm
The Carolina Community Network to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities (CCN) encourages new investigators to apply for
small-scale pilot research grants to address breast, prostate or colorectal cancer health disparities. Pilot grants
should be completed within 12 -16 months and have the potential to lead to a larger federally or foundation funded
award application. We are particularly interested in projects that work to forge partnerships with community-based
organizations.

- 2007 Cancer Health Disparities Mentored Research Awards
Spring 2007
The CCN encourages new investigators to pre-apply for a $50,000 mentored research supplement
using the community-based participatory research process or conducting community-based research
to address breast, prostate or colorectal cancer health disparities. We are interested in small
research projects that address some aspect of the spectrum of research on cancer health
disparities from needs assessments to intervention research to policy assessments.
